Refunds

Please also keep in mind that we take violations of our Terms of Service and Ethics Code very seriously, and we are under no obligation to provide refunds to users who violate these or other Swiss Micro Credential/SIMI Swiss/Partners policies, even if their requests are made within the designated refund period.

General information

Please refer to the material below for specifics on our refund timeframes and rules. Please note that our rules for subscription payments and one-time payments for course, specialty, and guided project purchases are distinct, and that payment alternatives may vary per product. Please note that we take breaches of our Terms of Service and Honor Code very seriously, and we are under no obligation to issue refunds to users who break these or other Swiss Micro Credential regulations, even if their refund claims are submitted within the refund period. Similarly, we are under no obligation to provide late reimbursements to users who fail a Content Offering or are otherwise dissatisfied with their final grade. Please visit our Learner Help Center for more information on our refund procedure, including details for claiming a refund.

Monthly Subscriptions

Swiss Micro Credential does not accept refunds for month-to-month membership purchases. To prevent being charged during a promotional free trial period, you must cancel your subscription prior to its expiration. Swiss Micro Credential retains the right to compel you to pay for a one-month membership in order to acquire a course and/or specialty certificate if you finish a course within the free trial period. Your membership will continue a month-to-month basis until you cancel or unless Swiss Micro Credential suspends or discontinues the service. For subscriptions to individual specializations, Swiss Micro Credential will automatically terminate your subscription at the end of the monthly period in which you earn a specialization certificate for the specialization, unless you subscribed via a third party marketplace that restricts our ability to do so, such as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store. Please visit the third-party marketplace for policy-related information. You must cancel your membership prior to the monthly renewal date in order to prevent being charged again. If you cancel your membership, the cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle; you will continue to have access to your subscription for the duration of the billing cycle, but there will be no reimbursement.

Swiss Micro Credential Plus

Submit a refund request via the Learner Help Center within 14 days of your payment to get a full refund of your Swiss Micro Credential Plus subscription fee. After this 14-day period, requests for refunds will not be honored. In lieu of a return term, certain Swiss Micro Credential Plus memberships may feature a free trial period. If you do not cancel during the trial period, you will be charged the full price of the subscription and will not be eligible for a refund. Your Swiss Micro Credential Plus membership will continue for the subscription period selected at the time of purchase and will thereafter renew automatically until and until you cancel your subscription or Swiss Micro Credential suspends or discontinues the subscription. If you cancel your membership after the refund period, you will retain access until the end of the subscription period and will not be charged for the next payment cycle.

Purchases of Individual Courses and Specializations

Swiss Micro Credential will provide a full refund if you cancel your paid enrollment in a standalone course within 14 days of payment, or until you have received your course certificate, whichever comes first. SCN/LAS will give a full refund if you pre-enroll and pay for a course until 14 days after the course begins or until you have received the course certificate, whichever comes first. Once you have received a course certificate in exchange for payment, you are not entitled for a refund, even if it is within 14 days. If you do not complete the course within 180 days, your registration will expire, and you will be required to pay to re-enroll. However, if you're taking a course through your company, organization, or a Swiss Micro Credential sponsored program (such as Swiss Micro Credential for Business, Swiss Micro Credential for Governments or Organizations, Swiss Micro Credential for Refugees, or other Swiss Micro Credential Social Good programs), you can earn your certificate as long as your company's contract with Swiss Micro Credential is active and your access has not expired according to the terms of that contract, or Swiss Micro Credential is still running the sponsored program. Likewise, the conditions of the agreement between your organization and Swiss Micro Credential will govern refunds and cancellations. Swiss Micro Credential will provide a full refund if you cancel your one-time, paid enrollment in a speciality until 14 days after payment, or until you obtain a course certificate for any course in the specialization, whichever comes first. If you pre-enroll and pay for the Specialization, Swiss Micro Credential will provide a full refund until 14 days after the first course in the specialty begins, or until you obtain your first course certificate for any course in the specialization, whichever comes first. Within 14 days of earning your first course certificate for any specialized course, you are not entitled for a refund. Unless otherwise specified during the registration procedure, you have one year to finish a specialty after purchasing it. Not withstanding the preceding, certain courses and specializations may be subject to shorter refund periods (e.g., for courses that are part of certain programs, you will only be eligible for a full refund until seven days after your payment date). In these instances, the shorter term will be specified during the registration procedure for the course or specialty.

Guided Projects

Swiss Micro Credential does not accept refunds for guided project payments. If you do not obtain your completion certificate within 180 days after registering for a guided project, your registration will expire and you will be required to pay to re-enroll in order to finish the guided project and receive your completion certificate. If you're taking the guided project through your company, organization, or a Swiss Micro Credential-sponsored program (e.g. Swiss Micro Credential for Business, Swiss Micro Credential for Governments or Organizations, Swiss Micro Credential for Campus, Swiss Micro Credential for Refugees, or other Swiss Micro Credential Social Good programs), then you can earn your certificate as long as your company's contract with Swiss Micro Credential is active and your access and/or invitation has not expired or been terminated in accordance with the terms of that contract or CSE Likewise, the conditions of the agreement between your organization and Swiss Micro Credential will govern refunds and cancellations. If you subscribed through a third-party marketplace that restricts our ability to offer refunds — for example, in-app purchases through the Apple App Store — please contact the third-party marketplace for details about their refund policy.
