The Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning for Qualifications (APELQ) enables the conversion of our certifications and relevant university-level knowledge, skills, and experience into credits for degree programs.
Courses from the Micro-Credential of Switzerland are recognized and accredited by SIMI Swiss and our University Partners. Our certifications can be automatically credit transferred when pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degrees.
Transfer credits to University Partners Degree Programs
The SIMI Swiss microcredential courses are well-recognized in the job market, offering broad career opportunities, and also provide credit for equivalent levels in SIMI Swiss academic programs.
Being recognized by SIMI Swiss and University Partners, the certifications from our short courses program can be converted into credits through the APELQ process. This means they don’t need to be retaken when enrolling in Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral programs.

Programs could transfer credits:
Recognized by SIMI Swiss and University Partners, our program allows the conversion of accumulated certifications from short courses into credits through the APELQ process. This means there’s no need to repeat these courses when enrolling in Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral programs.
- The SIMI Level 4 and 5 microcredential awards can be transferred for credits to Diploma’s Programs.
- The SIMI Level 6 microcredential awards can be transferred for credits to Bachelor’s Programs.
- The SIMI Level 7 microcredential awards can be transferred for credits to Master’s Programs.
- The SIMI Level 8 microcredential awards can be transferred for credits to Doctoral Programs.
Transfer Credits FAQs
- University Partners only accepts credit transfers for programs accredited by University Partners. All the SIMI Swiss Micro Credential programs are accredited and could immediately transfer credits into University Partners programs.
- After completing the short courses from SIMI Swiss Micro Credential, students receive a set of confirmation documents from SIMI Swiss and University Partners. They must present these documents along with the assignments when performing the credit transfer procedure with SIMI Swiss and University Partners.
- Students can only transfer credits to the SIMI Swiss and University Partners program at the same level and the same major.
In case there is no corresponding program to convert credits, students will still be entitled to a fee waiver policy accordingly to the current policy. - Credit transfer policy only applies to SIMI Swiss Micro Credential certificates within 2 years from the date of graduation from SIMI Swiss Micro Credential program.
- Credit transfer does not mean that the SIMI Swiss and University Partners program will be shortened. Students still have to spend enough time studying and researching corresponding to the total time to complete the program. The time will be shortened only for APEL.Q leads to SIMI Swiss and University Partners academic degrees.
Because SIMI Swiss Academic Board, independence IQA and EQA and University Partners has recognized the SIMI Swiss Micro Credential Courses. All Swiss Micro Credential programs comply with SIMI Swiss and University Partners rigorous accreditation standards.
Each SIMI Swiss Micro Credential program has a corresponding number of credits indicated. Students can convert 100% of their credits if they meet the general credit transfer policy of SIMI Swiss and University Partners.
SIMI Swiss and University Partners applies a training system compatible with the European Qualification Framework (EQF). EQF is widely adopted in Europe and is seen as a tool for degrees from many different education systems to be recognized and transferred.
All the SIMI Swiss Micro Credential certifications show the corresponding Level. These Levels can be converted to a SIMI Swiss and University Partners program corresponding to:
- SIMI Swiss Micro Credential Level 4 and 5 short courses could transfer credits to Diploma’s Programs.
- SIMI Swiss Micro Credential Level 6 short courses could transfer credits to Bachelor’s Programs.
- SIMI Swiss Micro Credential Level 7 short courses could transfer credits to Master’s Programs.
- SIMI Swiss Micro Credential Level 8 short courses could transfer credits to Doctoral Programs.
Once you have confirmed your credit transfer with SIMI Swiss and University Partners, you do not need to repeat the course according to the the number of credits that have been converted.
You are entitled to a reduced tuition fee according to the tuition fee transfer policy. Normally, you will receive 100% of your paid tuition fees for SIMI Swiss Micro Credential program.
You need to provide a complete SIMI Swiss Micro Credential certification after graduation to enjoy this policy.
Immediately after graduating from the SIMI Swiss Micro Credential programs, you can convert your credits and tuition fees to the SIMI Swiss and University Partners full degree program.
You can convert credits and tuition fees from the SIMI Swiss Micro Credential program up to 2 years after graduation.
